Sewage Fair 2026 sets visitor record!

On Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM, after two busy days, the Sewer Fair 2026 came to an end in MESSE C Fredericia - and there were big smiles all around after the final whistle.

More than 5.000 professionals - 5.210 to be exact - visited the large industry forum; an increase of just over 20 percent since the visitor record at the last fair in 2024.

- I'm going to pinch myself a little, because this is really crazy., said a delighted Verner H. Kristiansen, chairman of Danske Kloakmestre – The biggest sewer and drainage trade association in Denmark, which collaborates with MESSE C about the successful industry event.

The chairman had already promised to cross Mariager Fjord in a motorized septic tank if the fair reached 5.000 visitors, and he intends to keep that promise.

- I already have the "vessel" ready - now the weather just needs to get warmer, he said with a smile.

There was also great satisfaction among the exhibitors with this year's edition:

- This is our first time participating and it has exceeded all expectations. In fact, we have sold for about double what we expected, so that is really good. It has also been great to experience the optimism that is in the industry., said René Bergman, owner of Hurtigskift.dk, which sells Danish-made tools for excavators, skid steer loaders and more.

Took the trip from Aalborg

Many visitors had chosen to make a trip out of their visit to the Sewage Fair - this included a delegation from Jorton in North Jutland.

- There are 18 of us traveling by bus from Aalborg, and we are here to check out what's new, look at machines, electric equipment, etc. When you drive two and a half hours each way, there must be something to look for, and we definitely think that's what's at the Sewage Fair, stated Department Manager Soil and Sewerage Jan Bækgaard and Contract Manager Maja Randrup.

Nicole Lejgaard and Thomas Kjær Jensen had made the trip from Skanderborg to look at, among other things, climate protection solutions, machines and to network, and after a few hours they had only reached "one and a half walking lengths" of the fair.

- We just got talking, they explained with a smile, adding:

- But it is also clear that there is a greater breadth and greater selection at the fair than a few years ago - that is really good, they emphasized. 

 As is tradition, the Sewer Fair also provided the setting for the Danish National Championships in Sewer and Drainage, which were held in the middle of the fair grounds. The winners in the three categories were:

• Trained plumbers/system designers: Jens Mouritsen (Tscherning A/S)
• Plumber and structural engineer apprentices: Noah Langgaard (MJ Eriksson)
• Partners, of which at least 1 is an apprentice: Anton Alstrup (Lindå Balle Maskinstation) and Benjamin Ludwig Ruhwald (Arkil)

The next sewer fair will take place on February 3-4, 2028.
